Secret to Test Automation Value (Hint, It’s NOT Automation) |
SQGNE past President and current Vice President, Robin Goldsmith, JD |
|
Automation can reduce test execution duration and delay. Of course you could reduce them to zero by not testing; but maybe that’s not such a good idea. It does demonstrate, though, that duration and delay are only relevant for tests that provide value; and over-emphasis on test automation too often comes at the expense of test effectiveness. Learn how to identify—and then automate--the tests which provide the greatest value.

November Speaker: Scott Aziz: What Has AI Learned in the Past Year? |
Scott returned to follow-up his 2023 presentation and share "What AI Has Learned in the Past Year." He put the Spec2TestAI™ tool through its paces, demonstrating how original features have been enhanced and impressive new features have been added. In-person and online attendees were engaged and asked good questions; and of course Scott gave great answers. The tool inputs user stories or other requirements descriptions, analyzes them in four different ways, suggests improvements, and generates user story acceptance tests. Now, acceptance criteria/tests, screenshots, and automated test scripts can also be entered to generate user stories, security requirements, and improved acceptance tests. The AI engine interrogates a screen shot to show how it accomplishes the user story. When analyzing, the tool now can look across all user stories to gain a broader perspective. It applies various mathematical models and creates cause and effect tables to generate test cases. Chat functions have been added to each step. A unique new capability involves test case prediction without running the tests. Watch the recording at www.SQGNE.org. |
